The delivery-day surprise
A new machine arriving at a space it cannot use is an expensive disappointment. Measure the planned position and the route into it before comparing features. Photograph the space so the installer can see what a sales-page image cannot show.
What capacity means
The capacity figure refers to the permitted load under the model’s stated conditions. It is not the outside size, and programme limits can differ. Bosch’s guide treats capacity and machine type as separate choices. Think about the loads you actually wash rather than always choosing the largest number.
Allow for the parts you do not see
Check the full depth, opening door and space required for connections. Do not squeeze hoses into a gap guessed from a catalogue photograph. Give the seller or installer the exact model and measurements, and ask what preparation and services the delivery includes.
Decide around your washing week
Write down the loads you run most often and which settings you use. Compare those needs with the manual, installation quote and delivery terms. Extra programmes matter less if the machine complicates a task that was meant to become easier.
