A small chore that can become a nuisance

Care belongs in the buying decision.

Discovering that a new pillow cannot be cleaned the way you expected is irritating. Start with the care label rather than assuming that all soft fillings behave alike. A purchase should fit the routines you can realistically maintain.

Cover and filling are different parts

Removable does not automatically mean washable.

A removable cover may have different care instructions from the pillow inside. The label specifies what applies to each part. IKEA’s care guide is a useful introduction, but the exact product label takes priority over general advice or a photograph of similar bedding.

Measure before choosing covers

Check the real dimensions together.

Compare the pillow dimensions with the covers you already own. Then check the washing and drying method, including whether your equipment and available space are suitable. We have not tested comfort or support; those qualities cannot be judged from a care guide.

Choose the routine you can keep

Easy upkeep can be more valuable than a claim.

If two options seem suitable, favour the one with clear care instructions you can follow. Keep the label or a photograph of it. The right choice is not automatically the most elaborate filling; it is one that works with your everyday needs.
